Success at 2013 Security Awareness Day

24-07-2013

On Thursday 13th June, we held our second annual Security Awareness Day with great success. Designed as day for our current and prospective clients to learn more about the security industry, new products and our services, we had a great turnout with over 100 delegates.

We started the day at the Hilton hotel in Dartford where Daren Woods of the British Security Industry Association opened with an overview of their role in the industry and some of the current issues facing us all.

We then had a speaker from Securikey discussing domestic and commercial safes including grades, testing and ATM gas attacks. Gas attacks are fast becoming one of the biggest concerns for our clients, especially in the banking sector. You can read more about these in our feature on the next page on our new product solution.

Safe EngineerThe day continued with a presentation on the newest high security locks from M-Locks Europe, followed by information on door security and cylinders from Mul-t-Lock.

Sean Cunningham OBE, was our guest speaker who is currently Director of Security for a FTSE 250 company and Board Director for capital conflict management as well as a former Detective Super Intendant for the Met Police. He spoke about his experience in the industry and said of the day, “It’s a really good chance to meet other people in security as well as learning about new products and there are no other events around that do this in such a tailored way.”

For the afternoon, everyone travelled to our Thurrock depot where our engineers demonstrated how safes cracking has developed over the ages. We also showed the latest cash handling technology, access control systems and our ATM gas attack solution.

Overall, a great day was had by all the attendees with many a promise to return next year. We are looking at holding next year’s in Telford and would love to hear from you if you would be interested in attending or if you have any feedback from this year.
